    Someone, somewhere sat down and figured it out so that it could ALL be stacked AGAINST the seniors. Never in our working years did we have to make insurance decisions to "last the remainder of our lives". This causes me to NOT want to play the game and to NEVER purchase insurance. I have to die sometime. Might as well be in my home whenever I get sick. SMH

    Does this include advantage plans? And what about medical practices that send med techs to your house and do video calls with a nurse or doctor? Since I don’t drive when I found out about this medical place I became a patient. They do have a brick and mortar clinic tho. I have quite a few medical issues that need frequent care.

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits День тому

      Medicare Advantage plans should be able to make rules that work for the plan. It would be best to check with your doctor and see how they are coding your visits to see if they are medically necessary.

    Does the Part B premium get paid on the 1st of the month and is the giveback also applied on the 1st of the month?

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits 5 днів тому

      Hi there - It comes out of your social security check on that months payment. Typically the buy back does take a month or two to get set up and then you will see it in the same check.

    Danielle's UA-cam videos helped me avoid a world of hurt with using my employee coverage which included an HSA for a while before retirement. Boomer Benefits later helped me to choose Medigap and Part D plans. When I had an issue with Medicare not paying due to the timing of signing up and then having to go to Emergency soon after, Boomer Benefits helped me again. They really know their stuff and can make overwhelming scenarios much easier to handle. I would recommend them to anyone.

    Good Video, Danielle. Thanks. I just started Medicare in April (got my Supplement plan and Part D plan through BB). Just an anecdote: I went to the pharmacy for my refills of two Tier 1 prescriptions a month after I started the new Part D plan. I was ready to give my Part D card to the pharmacy tech and without looking at my card, she said that it's already in their system for my account. She said that it all goes by name and birth date. When I got home I verified under my account on the Part D plan company's website that sure enough there were the two meds paid for. My whole point is that it's kind of scary how all of my info is already "out there" without even having to provide it to the pharmacy. I guess it's like auto and home insurance -- where any new company can see everything that you already have with your existing company???

    I'm 100% P & T and am Priority Group 1 for VA Med Care. 100% P & T and PG 1 gives me totally free med care, dental, vision care, and audiology services (including hearing aids). I am in San Francisco so I have access to a major VA Med Center (that includes an inpatient hospital). When the time came to sign up for Medicare I passed on that because I'm very pleased with the VAMC. (Already had three surgeries, four colonoscopies, and what seems like an MRI every year. Plus I get labs every few months. And of course all prescriptions free.) Bottom line: I know not everyone has this level of VA healthcare, just saying for this Veteran, I'm good.

However, I'm still in search of video about Medicare and FEHB for those who are veterans eligible to receive care at VA medical centers but have families who has no coverage from VA and not yet of age to enroll in Medicare. I wonder how those factors play into health care decision making if at all.

    Hi There, I'm a little confused by the window to change to an equal Supplement plan. I read this on the California Department of Insurance: "Q: What is the "Birthday Rule" and how does it apply to the new Medigap Plans? A: If you already have Medigap insurance, you have 60 days of "open enrollment" following your birthday each year when you can buy a new Medigap policy without a medical screening or a new waiting period. The new policy must have the same or lesser benefits as your old policy. To avoid confusion, the new law specifies which of the new Plans are equal to the old Plans. So I'm wondering.......... Is it 30 days before and 30 days after? Or is the window........ 60 days after my birthday?

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits Місяць тому

      Hi there - this is super dependent on the carrier and how they allow each application to process. You have AT LEAST 30 days after your birthday. Give us a call and we can review the carriers rules with you 817-249-8600.

    I have had an HMO my entire adult life through all my employers. Had premium deductibles and prior authorizations. Even recently on Medicaid, I needed prior authorizations. So I’m not really getting why everybody complains about Medicare advantage plans, considering I’m willing to bet the majority of us had had plans in the past at the same way. I’m going to advantage plan because a person in my situation is not offered a supplemental. Orinal part B has too much financial risk. No way I will pay out of pocket
